Updated pics...

The Epi Goth bird with painted pickguard...I hated that cross and couldn't find a suitable replacement pg so I sanded and painted the one that was on it with black semi-gloss spray paint...

Sorry for the crappy pics- - I'll get better ones - - and sorry for the fingerprints...

I've always heard a lot of good comments about Epi's Elitest Thunderbirds, IIRC they're set neck and have much better pick ups, a bit more faithful to the original Gibson. Kinda rare too.
Go for it!..................... Of course I'd always say that :)

lol, Your opinion is expected, but i may add that i have always been a secret admirer of sorts with your tbirds. All of them are exceptional, especially your orange, if i remember correctly, fender bird with the custom tbird logo on the PG. Pure bliss seeing that pic. I'd be giving up a fender 51 ri for it. Not sure. Would rather sell it to purchase a really sweet 65 gibson eb0, but no one is biting on it. Such a sad dilemma.

I don't know the value of the 51 P, it's likely not nearly as rare as the Epi tho, again if I recall the Elitist are Japanese made and nice build quality.

The Elitists are nice basses. They are set neck (but look like a neck thru) and the headstock is the same size as the 70's Tbirds IIRC. The pickups are the Gibson T-bird plus like they put in the LP standard basses. I've only played one and it was nice (belonged to Chromium until he bought a 76 Bird), and like Mark said they don't show up too often. They have a nice vintage look to them with the chrome hardware. I'd grab one if I could.

hey guys, does anyone know where to get a strap button big enough for the screw in the neckplate to fit through? Ive had enough of the neck dive and want to try and fix it without resorting to taking a drill to my precious TBird! :p

BTW, I noticed a couple of guys on this thread have Gibson truss rod covers on their Epiphones. Does the standard Gibson cover fit an Epi?

You'll be drilling new holes, Gibson TRC is smaller at the nut than Epi.......So it will fit but........

No! the Epi TRC is bigger, the Gibson won't cover up it's holes. Check out the guy on ebay that sells the stainless Epi ones instead, they're pretty cool.
