The Uber has nice tight lows with my SB. I eq some treble and cut the lows a bit on the vintage channel. I never noticed a boomy or muddy tone from it. As a matter of fact I can never see replacing the Uber for anything else as I am extremely happy with it.

Also they are hard to find now that they are out of production.

If you pick the cab up and figure you dont like it, you could always flip it.

YMMV.

Amp has been running fine at home all week. Took it back to practice place today and amp ran fine, no issues of overheating or cutting out.
It was unusually hot (93f) and humid last week, also discovered the AC was out in the practice place last week, which could have contributed, though I have had it on for hours straight before, as well as on pretty hot stages, with no issues
I’ll still get it in to my tech to examine it when my new tubes for my other head arrive.

Just got my Neo 115 this evening to go with my Super Bassman that I’ve had for about a month. Super stoked but I have to wait until tomorrow to play it because the neighbors are all in bed now. Fun time tomorrow though. Here’s the picture.

I see your 115 has the. "Only 45lbs" advert card on it. Be interested to see exactly what it weighs.
I documented my dealings with my 2 115s earlier... my 2nd and later model one weighed greatly 17lbs more than the 48lb one.
Is yours brand new

Yes it is new. I haven’t weighed it but it’s very light to pick up. I read some of your posts about the weight issues but I think I have a light one from the way it feels when lifting it. Later I plan on adding a second cab. That’s when I’ll need to pay attention. There’s something about two 15’s that make it sound much bigger than only one. It’s kind of like how it is with a stereo field with stereo speakers except this is not in stereo. But still it opens the sound up so much more than only having a single 15 inch speaker if you know what I mean. Anyway thanks for your warning on the cabinet weight.

I remember thinking, the 1st time I picked up my "heavier" one... 'hey that ain't that light'
So, it sounds like you're all good.
You're also right about the 2x15s being greater than their sum.
Classic rig, ..the Super Bassman and 2x15s!

I have only played my SB through an Ampeg SVT 410HLF and it sounds amazing. I had one of the older 410HLF with the black grill cloth and it was mud city but the one I have with the silver grill cloth is very defined in the mids and Highs and has massive but not muddy lows. The SB on vintage channel sounds great and with the horn turned down to 9 oclock on the modern channel works well too. I usually leave the horn just barely on never liked the HF horns on any bass cab except the Peavey PVH 212.

Right, yep, the SB knobs all seem like the ol Bassman knobs I remember.
Ive only looked briefly at a Bassman 500 in store. Basically, I lifted it up with my li'l finger to see how light it was. Was quite amazing when you remember that I had the SB. Comparatively.... wow! Similar headcase, WAAYYY different weights!

I'm pretty sure its because the SB and the Bassman 500 don't use the same pots. The ones on the SB are the old style or larger traditional size pots. My guess is that the ones on the Bassman 500 are probably the same as those on my Rumble 500 head, which are a lot smaller and soldered directly to a circuit board. Still looking for a photo on line but can't find one showing the pots.
