Gig this morning for the premiers of the Aus Football League-Hawthorn Hawks.

At sound check. Alleva-Coppolo EUT5 -Fender Super Bassman -Bassman Neo 115 (I should've brought both 115s but an 8am sound check meant I was slack. It was fine with the single 115 but 2x15s would've been nice)

The weight and authority of every note with the SB 300 is a beautiful thing. I don't always enjoy schlepping it, and won't at some venues with unusually challenging load-ins, but the amp thrills me every time I use it.

And a word about the Neo 410, which I've owned for a year and a half now. I'm a fan of 410s, and this is the last one I ever will own. It sounds great, looks fabulous with the matching amp and, most of all, the light weight is ridiculous.

I couldn't agree more with your assessment of Big Iron vs. SS.

Gigged the SB300 into the neo 810 cab yesterday. I underestimated the sheer stage filling power of this combination (and I have owned a couple of Ampeg 810 fridges and SVTs). In comparison to my old neo 610 cab there was noticeably more bottom end, easily fixed halfway through the gig - I should have done it sooner - by turning the bass on the vintage channel down to 2 1/2 from 4. Initially any note on the E string was a little more resonant, I guess everyone is right when they say that 2 -10 -2 is flat on Fender vintage tone controls. Anyway, after the tone tweak it was a pretty awesome sound and power. It was probably a room issue, but it also reminded me how easy to use that old fashioned Fender eq is if you are familiar with it. I think the 810 will be my go to for a few outdoor stages we have coming up, the Berg 215 with the SB300 will do for small to medium gigs as I don't want to dominate the onstage mix too much :D - I know you can turn down but eight tens are still eight tens:hyper::hyper:.The guys in the band commented on how light the neo 810 is, the trick is to keep it fairly vertical when moving it on its wheels. Last thought - I am pretty confident I could get just about any tone I want out of the SB300/810 combination

Yo guys. So I posted these in the sb owners thread but i thought I'd drop them here as well. These clips are from a radio performance that my band did in toronto about a month ago. I'm using my sb300 thru an ashdown 810. Running pretty much flat on the od channel. We took a line out of the head and blended that with a mic on the front. We have now been on tour for a month and every night the head has worked flawlessly. I'm so happy with this amp. Anyway check it out.

Great stuff Man! That's awesome! F Bass to boot. I've wanted to try one of those for a while. If you guys ever play Vermont...

@rodl2005 Thanks! The cab is an Electric 15L. It's a sealed single 15" cab that's the same length and width as their 2x12 cab, but a couple inches deeper. I had it made several years ago because the band I was in had been playing a lot of small coffee house type of gigs, and my 612 was a bit much:) It has a really nice old school growl at much more reasonable volumes, and surprisingly good bass extension. c.

After spending the last few months with the sb300 I've found that a higher volume level on either channel makes for an ideal punchy tone for my liking. It seemed like it was muddy at most eq settings until I turned up the volume on channel 1. Im still wrapping my head around how to use the tube head for best tone and I think I'm on the right track? Is that the way these work? A higher volume on the channel and then adjust the master?
