The first fretless... Bill Wyman?

Just thought I would chime in again:
That great colour photo with Bill wearing a jumper is apparently from November 1973.

Regarding all the modifications Bill made to his Dallas Tuxedo bass it is worth noting what he DIDN'T change.

He kept the original tuners, neck pickup, and the bridge. He kept the shape of the headstock, just painted it out.
In some photos it looks like you can see spray paint on the neck pickup.

and here he is playing the replica in 2012!
