The Fretless Club

Ooh-ooh! Count me two! My first fretless was a late-70s Frankenbass, mostly Fender - a Precision body w/a Jazz pup added and a defretted Jazz (fretlines filled w/black epoxy) neck. Eventually the neck succumbed and could no longer maintain decent posture, so the bass got an MM fretless precision neck - which I hate. 2 years ago I bought a 4-string ('88) Buzz and last month got a ('94) Pentabuzz, my first 5-string. I uploaded some crummy pics in the Pedulla thread (my ears are way better than my eyes): http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=400567&highlight=pedulla

Here is my G&L SB-2, it is about 1 1/2 years old and the build and finish are amazing. The SB-2's are my favorite playing 4-string basses I have ever owned and this one certainly has not let me down.

This is one of the first SB-2's that where made with the new 6-bolt neck design, it seems to have a bit better sustain then my other SB-2's that I have.
The only *Con* I have about this bass is that I wish I could spend more time playing it so I could get better at my fretless playing:hmm:

But I may actually take it to my gig this weekend for the first time :hyper:

The Muppet archetypes were SO accurate! Animal - who hasn't played with an out-of-control drummer? - got more attention than he deserved; Zoot was just too cool for his own good. Floyd, despite his stoner appearance and laconic speech, was always the most level-headed, and his (bass) lines were perfectly authentic no matter what genre they undertook; he's one of my heroes. I thank you, kind sir, on behalf of myself AND Floyd.

mero - sincere apologies. I have you on the spreadsheet at #125, apparently I missed you in the copy & paste process. And yes, there is love. Love is what brings it all together.

Let's see if I can keep up with the rest:
Chili Bo Billy is already in at #123, I appreciate the photo evidence.
