Here's my Ibanez SR-400 Fretless next to my other basses. P pickup removed, J pickup replaced with a quarter pounder, wired direct. Soon to be replaced by a Nordstrand NJ4-SE!

did you guys think about the dichotomy of being a fretless club yet being separated and incorporated in an excel sheet...
something with rigidly defined lines!
Similary, the original Fender electric bass was the Precision Bass, so named because it had frets, giving the player the precision in intonation that is not available on a standup bass. So, what does that make a fretless P-bass?

Here are my two fretless basses
One is a custom built by me with flame maple top, Ebanol unlined Mighty Mite neck, Dimarzio Ultra Jazzes and Ebony Knobs.
The other is a Squier Deluxe Active Jazz 5 Body with a lined Ebanol Ken Smith Design Neck.

lambro - Does it help that it's really an Open Office spreadsheet instead of Bill Gates' Excel? Yes, there are lines, but I need them. I apparently had trouble counting past 50... I'm a bass player, I can count to four 275 times in a row but I need help to get much farther than that.
However, as an act of respect and attempt to resolve the dichotomy which haunts you I just removed the borders on the page, thereby defretting the document.

Did you, by any chance, attempt a defret on the original (ebanol ?) neck on the Squier ?
I've been considering one of those as a backup.

Finally made it to this page! 
I have 2 now - a custom (Wilkat body, Anderson Neck) and a Warwick Corvette that I won't get to see for a few months.
I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan - so I'll see it when I get home right before summer.
Oh - and I also built a website cause I like my fretless so much!

Classic 60's jazz bass, Badass bridge, defretted by Lyrical Lumber in Florida. Currently sporting flats.
The other jazz is a 99 am std, stock with maple neck.
If anyone cares, the acoustic is a Taylor and the electric is a gibson es 135 with Rio Grande p-90s.
So, guess I need a number.

Not sure I deserve to be in the "Fretless Club" just because I spent a couple hundred dollars on a Squier. I've got a long way to go 'til I can play this freakin thing in reasonable tune and consider myself a fretless player. :scowl:
