Fawkirk !! Smack dab in the centre of Scotland.
Site of 2 battles(1 won,1lost),home of the largest iron foundry in Europe (cannons used at Waterloo were made here). Nobel had a dynamite factory here on account of all the pits. Logie-Baird did his early TV broadcasts here. Barr's Irn-Bru started 1/4 mile from my house and there's still remains of the Roman wall across the road.

Far as bass goes there's a couple of BC fellas. Peaveys Home for Wayward Basses is here too

Don't forget the engineering marvel that is "The Falkirk Wheel". Well, OK, "marvel" may be taking it a bit far...

The Wheel is OK,the area surrounding the basin/car parks etc are always spotless. The Kelpies however are fantastic,no idea what their purpose is but being 90 ft high you can't miss them. Friend from Norfolk took these snaps last weekend.

One of my work colleagues, Jim Carruth, wrote the poem around the Kelpies. As well as his day job he’s poet laureate for Glasgow. The wheel is worth a visit, especially if you’re into Roman history as the Antonine Wall passes through just above the wheel.

Apart from 2 or 3 places the local council ignore the Roman history. Took a walk round the corner to see a friend when suddenly the position of the road made sense. They'd built the road using the Wall's ditch. Once you know what to look for,it's easy to spot. A fairly good section can be seen in Callander Park.
