Well, I got to gig with this sucker on Friday! After 9 months of writing and practicing, my original stoner rock band had our first gig. To make things easier on everyone, the bands agreed to share gear ahead of time, and I of course took this as a perfect opportunity to hear how my rig sounds from both the stage and the audience.
HOLY COW. I have never been able to hear myself on stage so well in my life! Like I mentioned earlier, I was a little concerned with how squatted the Dually physically is, especially being 6'5", but this was not an issue at all. I could feel the bass full force into my body the whole time I played, and with my Ric and the 7 Pro it sounded incredible! I got tons of compliments after the show, people asking me what cab I was using, no one believing me when I told them it only weighs 60 lbs, etc.
The other two bands also loved the rig. One of the guitarists just kept going on and on about how great he thought it sounded. One bassist used a jazz, the other used both a Ric and a jazz. The sound was very round, full, smooth and present, without being overbearing or harsh. The frequency response across all strings was very good (this is one of my favorite things about this cab, although it is likely a combination of the cab and the amp). You could hear everything each bassist was playing, 100% of the time. No getting lost in the mix in the upper register. Plus, the bass! You could feel it rumble in your bones.
Anyways, super impressed with how everything went. The cab is amazing in every way.
