Hey all,

I took a social media break after Covid started to calm down, and I now I see the harp unstrung listed as inactive. I searched back through and saw his last post was in 2022 and he was talking about going to the dr.

I consider that man to be a friend - any info would be, well I hesitate to say welcome exactly...

Like you I consider him a friend... we'd met up last time he was in Dublin, a lovely man. I've tried to track him down, as have a few other TBers I'm aware of, but to no avail. I still hold out hope he's alive and well and just got tired of the forum but...

I'm so sorry to hear about him. I considered him a friend as well. We would message each other. The last message I got from him was February 8, 2022 when checked on me after my long and bad hospital stay and he wished me well. A super nice guy. May he rest in peace.

Same here. I saw that he had been inactive but thought he might just revolve back in at a later date. I had a few great conversations (via TB) and he was full of life and humor. (and sometimes irreverence )

This is quite sad. . A loss to everyone. RIP Mr. Harp.

I think that would be entirely appropriate. I've just added a thread in the "In Memoriam" section, which says it's "awaiting approval." (Reasonable enough, since I expect they want to avoid inaccurate reports, double-posts, etc.) If any progress arises from there, I'll note it here.

Oh no! Such a great guy. He and I exchanged a number of messages when he was active here. We were going to meet up after I moved south, but his account went inactive right around that time. I'm really sorry to hear this. Thanks for letting us know. RIP, good sir.

Thanks to @Peteyboy's question in this thread, I did some checking on fellow Georgian, low-ender, and percussive enthusiast, @the harp unstrung, who had been regrettably absent from these pages for some time. I'm very sorry to say that I only just found his obituary this evening. He passed away on June 26, 2024, "surrounded by family and music."
