With added cat and lense smear :p :)

mustbampeg: what's the prestige model like? I've been very curious about them for a while now.

sorry it took so long for me to respond, but to answer your question, I'm relatively impressed. I dont care too much for the Bartolini's, but overall it sounds pretty good. As far as craftmanship and playability, it is very, very nice. Even though it is Korean made, the quality is top notch. Mine is the Mahogany body with a Walnut top. 5 piece maple/bubinga neckthru. Rosewood fretboard. I think that the flamed maple ones are more in abundance than the Mahogany ones, as I have not seen another Mahogany one. I know they are out there, but I havent seen any. My local GC's only have the the flamed maple ones.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand, if you have any specific questions, or want specific pics of anything (electronics cavity, ect.,) just lemme know. I will be happy to oblige.
here is a couple more for your viewing pleasure. :D

After a fruitful band pilgramage to GAK in Brighton (here in the UK) I'd like to request a member number :) I am now the proud owner of an Ibanez SR500.

Will post pics in the morning, it's 23:15 here at the moment, and I've just got back (after an 08:30 start) drove 2 hours there, spent the day with the rest of the band shopping and drove back, straight to practice and out for a curry :)

am so stoked with the new bass it justs sounds and feels so great.

Not sure if I need to take a number, since frankly I'm thinking of selling this bass... but what the heck, that probably won't happen for a few months anyway!

My Ibanez ST-980 eight-string bass, circa 1980. (I bought it in 1988 from Marc Sloan, bassist with Ritual Tension). It's served me well, making a token appearance on a couple of Debris albums as well as some hysterical pieces in my solo repertoire.

THis has got to be one of the coolest old Ibby's I've ever seen. After reading that Hemitom's Studio weighs 14 lbs i can only imagine how much this monster weighs. Beautiful bass. I would love to hear it.

I just bought a mid-90's SR1305. It's fretless, but I spoke to the owner who had it before the person I bought from it and he said he wasn't even sure that model was ever available as a fretless. But he also said that if it wasn't originally fretless then it was easily the best de-fret he's ever seen. It should arrive next Tuesday, so I'll post some pictures of it once it arrives.

I did a lot of searching but could find VERY little on that model. There were were only a few mentions here, next to nothing in the Ibanez Galleries and Ibanez Collectors web sites, and only one review on Harmony Central. At least the little bit of info I found on it was very, very positive. Can't wait to finally get it!

I'll assume this thread is where I could find some Ibanez experts, so who know something about that model?
