The Ibanez Club (Part 2)

I just bought a mid-90's SR1305. It's fretless, but I spoke to the owner who had it before the person I bought from it and he said he wasn't even sure that model was ever available as a fretless. But he also said that if it wasn't originally fretless then it was easily the best de-fret he's ever seen. It should arrive next Tuesday, so I'll post some pictures of it once it arrives.

I did a lot of searching but could find VERY little on that model. There were were only a few mentions here, next to nothing in the Ibanez Galleries and Ibanez Collectors web sites, and only one review on Harmony Central. At least the little bit of info I found on it was very, very positive. Can't wait to finally get it!

I'll assume this thread is where I could find some Ibanez experts, so who know something about that model?

good luck!

Congrats. SR1305 is a very cool instrument, used by Fieldy at some point in the past. If you search the internet you ll find some photos or even video clips with him and the bass. Never heard of a fretless version though either. I m positive you 'll love it, cant wait for the pictures.

That bass he just bought was mine. The orginal seller I got it from didnt even know if it was made fretless or was defretted later on, but the fretboard is very smooth and professionally done. I had pics of this thing up in the old Ibanez thread if you want to search it out....its absolutely gorgeous. But I didnt play fretless enough, and I couldnt just keep it around to stare at it (although I did for a while ;) ) I am still in the club though, because I have my trusty '95 ATK 305...mmmmm I havent put pics up of it but I will soon.

My new baby: EDB 700 - Man, I love these EDBs :hyper:

This thread is pretty cool...
Loads of ATK's (I'm especially digging the 500 and the 405), and the Ibanez 8-string - whadayamean yer getting rid of it :confused::eek::confused::eek: That is a thing of beauty, and multi-course basses are amazing (been playing my Dean 12ver tonight).

And Mod Scotty, what's the story behind the ergodyne with an ATK pickup - stock or after market??? Looks cool either way, and I bet it sounds pretty good too!

I guess I need to take a pic of my ATK's and post it, but I have no idea where my camera is...

yo jusballs...well small world...im the guy who bought your SR 5005MM... had couple of questions to ask you about that guitar...do reply

Only getting rid of it if I can replace it with a better 8-string!

That makes it OK then! I've never played an Ibby 8 (or even seen one in the flesh) but if it's anything like the other old Ibanez's I've had a hand on, you should keep it, and get a different/better 8 in addition... (or a 12! Even better!) (or the 15 that Ibanez made for Fieldy). (Disclaimer: Not a Korn fan, but am a multi-course fan and an Ibanez fan.)

here's mine (again I think...)

Ibanez SR1006LEBP

I found a buyer for it, so it will no longer be mine. However, I think I might find another prestige to go with....

I'm selling it because I have some other things I need to buy (all bass oriented...like a new full tube amp, lol) and I can get away with a cheaper 6 or something similar.

It does look purdy though doesn't it?

Mine is made in korea, but quality on this bass is fantastic, I've never had a problem with any of the prestige ibby's I've played
