Well, I just got my Ibanez SR 3006 Prestige in and am very impressed with the quality of that bass. I was looking at all the Ibanez Clubs and I noticed that there wasn't a prestige club to be found, so I thought I'd start one.

Actually, there is a Prestige Club thread around here somewhere. I remember seeing it when I was researching my SR1006EBG Prestige that I bought a little more then a month or so ago. ;)

Hope you like yours as much as I like mine! I've been waiting to post any pictures of mine until I get the custom knobs that I ordered for it from THG, which should hopefully be shipping any day now. The only thing I disliked about mine was the feel of those cheap plastic knobs, Everything else is more then satisfactory, so I bit the bullet and am replacing them with some sweet looking custom wooden ones made by Roger. :D

The one thing I do love about mine is the tone! Punchy and warm. Gotta love it! :)

Here's a simple pic of it I got from the place I bought it from. Once I get the new knobs, I'll post new pictures. ;)

Edit: I looked for that Prestige Club thread and couldn't find it. I know I read the damn thing a month or so ago, but it seems to have disappeared as near as I can tell. lol...

Pruitt,

I searched myself and found nothing! If there is a thread, I guess we both missed it. As of now, we have 3 members! ;)

I'll take #001
Pruitt: #002
zoloo: #003

Both of you have beautiful basses!
Pruitt, is your MIJ or MIK? and where did you get your knobs???

It's a 2006 or 2007 MiK I believe. It has a Bubinga top on a Mahogony body, with a Maple/Bubinga neck. She sounds and plays great! It's a big upgrade over the SR506 I've been playing the last 3 years, in my opinion. :bassist:

The knobs I ordered are from THG Knobs. I haven't received them yet, but they should be heading my way shortly. Once I receive them and get them on the bass, I'll post new pics. :)

I'll start! Here's my newly acquired SR 3006:
Mahogany body
Wenge/bubinga neck
Wenge fretboard

Hey that's my old bass (and my plants and deck)! Hope you're digging it!

My SR1005EWN is my main gigging bass. I absolutely love the sound of it. Mahogony body and (thick) walnut top, bart pickups.

Here are a couple of tracks of it (soloed neck pickup, treble rolled off, slight mid bump).

Hey

Thanks for the lead on a custom knob maker. I have a 2006 SR1005 Prestige in bubinga and maple just like yours and the knobs have been bugging me for the past 3 years.

I sent Roger a line and we'll see what price he comes up with for dual inlays. Do you mind telling me what you paid for your capped knobs because they also look pretty sweet.

Here's a shot of mine.

Thanks.

Hey OP, can you please get us some pics, soundclips, or thoughts on your SR3006? I've been GASing for one for SO long but nobody ever had one.... Thanks!

In other news, heres my BTB1206 prestige

Sweet Prestige tay!

I regret to inform you, I no longer have my 3006. The 6 string thing just isn't for me. I traded it. It was a great sounding bass though.

If one of you wants to take over the club, be my guest!

Thanks!

Hi All,

I have been totally Jonesing for any review info about the new Ibanez Sr5000 series basses.. Does anyone have one yet? How do they sound? what styles do they really suit? I play a fender jazz and love the sound of fender jazz basses, however, I love the feel of those slim ibanez necks.. can this bass dial a vintage tone?? Sound clips anyone??

Thanks!!!

HI count me in, 2002 Ibanez BTB 1205 PQM Prestige. I was told when I bought it that it was bought at the Namm show and it was one of two built. I have seen another, so I am not sure, It was made in japan and the electronics are a bit different. 2 bartolinis and Piezos under the bridge. Also different, the knobs, top are vol, balance vol. the bottom two affect tone.
