Hi everyone.
The 4000e seems like a really nice bass but didn't try it yet. I can't seem to find any review of the 4000e on the web. Any owners here willing to share some details? How is the mid eq? How close to other SR's is the sound? Any reason not to buy it?

GAS is a bad thing...

I'm quite pleased with mine. I don't know what the other SR's sound like because I've never tried them. Here's a review:

Thank you JSmith. I found that review a bit after posting this. But it was linked on the Ibanez website, so I thought it might be a bit biased.

Well, I want the black version, but where I live only the red one is available. Oh, and it costs 2000$. Thanks ridiculous import tariffs. I'm still going to try one this weekend.

Dustin in August Burns Red plays the same bass and it sounds fantastic! Better than everything else I've ever heard, and it looks incredible.

Here is my SR8100
a J-custom : made by the Japanese custom shop in 1992 (bought used).

I have wanted one of these for a long time. I remember seeing them in the catalog back in the day. Anyone know if a 5 string version was made and what was the model number?

Formerly owned a SR3006. Great bass. Didn't like the pre-amp much but it played extremely we and sound fantastic.

I also own this beast here, wich kind of a Prestige... It´s a 1994 Custom Made but comparing with my new Prestige I can say: It´s pretty much the same bulding process. The details are quite the same!

How can you know it's a prestige or not especially when it's older.
