The incredible John Myung

I've always said to folks if you like DT but hate the singer, and want a more traditional "rock" toned singer, listen to Symphony X. I think they are right up with DT talentwise but I like the vocals better, and they don't forget about hooks as often as DT does.

Sure. When he stays within his range, and style, I think he sounds great. Songs like Surrounded, Voices/Silent Man, Trial Of Tears, Ann Lee, most of Scenes from a Memory, the second disc of 6 Degrees...I really enjoy his vocals. It's when he tries to go all Hetfield that he really, really loses it.

He can be hit or miss live, depends on what he tries to do.

Yeah... Gotta agree. I can't stand LaBries voice, and it makes it hard for me to enjoy non-instrumental DT songs. The only one with vocals we cover is Metropolis, which is s blast to play... All the rest are instrumentals.

BTW, Myung is SICK!
