Thanks everyone - and yes it was Wilton Felder - he also plays Sax - and this line to me has that influence - if you listen to it and hear a Sax instead of a Bass you'll see what I mean. Not Jamerson -but still a great line. There was a short one pager on this in Bass Player a few months back where he talked about the Bass he used etc.... I think it was a 70's Fender Tele Bass if I remember correctly. This was one of my first records when I was a kid.
