The Joe Nerve appreciation thread...

how could i forget... THANKS SECRET DONKEY! much appreciated topic. :) :) :)

Ha! Your (eventual!) post certainly made it all worthwhile. I laughed harder at that than when StupidMatt slapped a moustache on Vic Wooten's picture and entered him in the "best bassist with a moustache" thread!" Darn good thing I wasn't drinking milk at the time, my nose would have been a pair of lactose jets!

Incidentally, I have one of Joe's doppelgangers in my social circle. This guys also a talented musician, an honest guys and "real" - or as real as you can get while on anti-depressants.

i don't know what a doppleganger is??? never knew i had any, and i'm incredibly surprised to find i have one in canada. could you elaborate as you've aroused my curiosity.

also... how come nobody talked about how great i play? do i have to do that myself? it would be embarrassing. c'mon guys, you still have some work to do here. nino? you've been to nerve shows. some of you other guys have seen me. surely you've downloaded some of my music. i can almost play a couple of jaco songs. i can play flea's solo in stone cold bush. i hardly ever make mistakes anymore, and i jump around a lot at gigs too. little kids look at me in music stores when i fiddle around with bongos. it's true.

Hey Joe, Thanks for tackling me and saving me from that speeding car. Even though I was drunk, I did find it a bit uncomfortable when you just kinda laid there on top of me in the street like that. Maybe it was just hard for you to get up with that bad ankle. I did quit drinking after that and Mr. Slate was cool enough to give me my job back. I guess that makes you a pretty good guy.

Somebody tell me where to send the stinking dollar so this guy can get a Bongo.

Everyone's got a doppelganger - as per WillPlay4Food's dictionary definition - the genepool's not THAT big. I met mine on a binge in Amsterdam in the late '80s.

Anyways, this guy I know resembles you a lot physically from what I can tell, he's a bit off the wall and has been known to scare kids with bongos, too. I'm not sure he could play a flea solo, but he plays a mean game of full-contact croquet.

I getting Road Rage just reading this!

That's Joe's song, which I have had the pleasure to hear
and he sounds as good as he smells, uh, looks, errr
whatever ...

I just love those reflective threads, I can relate ...

Obesa Cantavit!

I think you have been the victim of a drive-by-burritoload
from the invisible***, don't worry, the smell does go away ...
eventually.

Hey Joe,

If it makes you feel any better, yesterday I was contemplating my main band's more straight-up rock songs in re: whether they're suitable as something showcasing my bass work, and I thought of your tune "Road Range" as an example of a song that's rock but also had parts where the bass really flashes. Your playing in it is solid and gives a peek at your chops.

Feel better :D
thanks. i am feeling a little better now. :D

it was really rough deciding what song to contribute. i have songs that i really dig the bass playing on, but the songs themselves aren't my favorites. there's one other song i'm considering sending, i've actually just been lazy about it as making the mp3 and sending the last one was like brain surgery for me. if i get the time and energy i'm going to also send you a song called "spank the monkey". it's a bit quirkier than road rage, but may be a better bass showcasing song. hmmmm..... are you considering putting more than one song from any members on the cd? i saw it written that you guys were waiting for a few submissions from JT. does that mean you were putting more than one on the cd, or that you were going to pick? perhaps i should be asking this in that other thread? naaah. it's free bump for this more important one. :)

LOL........

Joe I'll never forget the day your car broke down and the repair bill was $one-third-of-a-bongo. You're the only person I know that thinks in bongo-frations.

Cheers mate.
