I thinks it's the iconography. That's what you think of when you first found out these amazing instruments existed. A walnut sides w/ neck-thru maple Neck CR is the mental image I have when I think KS bass.

How about servicing? The pots on mine are worn out so the middle indent is impossible to locate. Figure I could have it setup too. Don't know if I should contact Brubaker, what turn around time is like, any insights?

I need some quick help. I found a KS CR6 in ok condition at a guitar center for $2199. I am unsure if its a good deal. I need advice on the 6 string neck, I am only used to set up the truss rod on a 5 strings bass. This bass has a big warp from the 5th to about the 21st is that normal on a 6 string bass or the neck is no good? I press the 1st fret and the 12th and the string is good so i am thinking the truss rod is good but it has a big warp still. What do you all think? I have 2 days legs before I have to leave the area.

My first Ken Smith, another dream bass added to my collection. The tone and playability are just beyond even my high expectations for this instrument.

That price is good (IMHO), it's GC so you'll have 45 days to see if you can adjust the neck and set it up. I'd buy it, try to set it up with the existing strings. If it sets up, sweet. If not, take it back.
Sounds good but the bass is at oahu and i am from El Paso. I have until Sunday to decide as i go back. I just don’t want to carry the bass all the way back and found out it does have issues. I just need to know were the neck moves on the 6 string
A 6 string bass neck shouldn't act any differently than any other bass. Is there a GC by you in El Paso? You could have it shipped there, or shipped to your home and then you could return it to your local GC if you need to (assuming there is one).
That is a tough one. After a quick review of available KS6's the pricing is excellent.

re: tech to adjust the neck BEFORE you purchase/ leave. Call GC returns
1-866-498-7882 and verify if you can return it to the El Paso GC within 45days
if the neck isn't repairable. Shipping Oahu>El Paso would be costly.
Getting Ken Smith to repair the neck would be costly. The bass itself is costly.
Buying an expensive 6 string when you're used to 5 strings is costly.
Buying an expensive bass in a "foreign country" that has a warped neck
is costly. You could come out like a boss or lose a great deal of money/ respect.

That is very true on all. If they can ship it for free to El Paso GC i may pick it up but if not i am going to pass.
They won't ship it for free- don't expect that. Would you sell/ship to Oahu for free?
I've passed on GC purchases because they charge to ship between locations. Just me.
Call GC 1-866-498-7882 and get your questions answered. Do it TODAY (if they're open).
If you get some twink that's reading off a script call back. And make arrangements to
talk to the store mgr. in the local GC that has your bass on getting it adjusted face-to-face
(people are less likely to BS you if you're eye to eye). The millennial salesperson won't bother.
Rest assured- the Store Mgr. wants that bass sold- control the sale.
GCs shipping costs are pretty inexpensive, I think it was $25 In shipping for the last bass I bought from them (which coincidently was a Ken Smith). The Hawaii factor may change that. Even if it's $100 you're still getting a good deal provided the bass is functional. Call the store directly and see what they tell you. If the bass doesn't have a hard shell case you should try to haggle and get one thrown in or at least at a discount. Their packing can be suspect...
I appreciate the advice that everyone has given me. I am going to have them adjust the truss rod to see what happens. They original had the bass marked at $2499 but after I told them the issue about the neck they discounted $400 making it $2099. Once thing i have notice about the GC folks, they have zero knowledge on the instruments they sale. When they received this basses the technician should had caught the issue during the inspection. I let you know what happens.

After you said they dropped the price $400 means:
1. Scary they sell stuff they don’t know the condition of;
2. They tried to pull a fast one, hoping someone would buy first and deal with it later, or just not know (big music store bad habit).
I say like a few kind folk have already said: neck trouble is a dealbreaker. No way it’s worth buying if that rod only has a few/couple of turns left...headaches at 2k? No way.
