That's because it is basically our living room, but we don't use it for that. You see it as soon as you walk in the front door, so I'm motivated to keep it picked up. That picture is a little old - now there is an additional music stand, some instrument stands and another small table next to the chair.

I think it’s very cool when other people hang their guitars on walls. Personally, I’ll never do it because I don’t want my tone pots to get dusty / scratchy and have to clean them. A guitar on the wall is just something else I don’t want to clean. I don’t baby my gear but I prefer my instruments to be safe and clean in their cases. Gravity usually always wins, eventually...

It may not help with dust in the pots, but after I hung mine, my wife gave me a feather duster to keep them relatively dust-free.

Dust in my pots has never been an issue for me. Sounds more like a Kansas song.

I've made these with tool/utility hangers, and those work perfectly for instruments also.

The single hangers I got on reverb.com really cheap but they are pretty nice. They came in a set of two for $8.99 shipped. I found out later the same shop sold a set of four for $14 shipped. That includes screws and anchors but I used the screws I had already. I'll probably grab a couple more of them.

Mine are on stands instead of hung (well, some are on individual hangers) but I wanted to say I'm in the middle of my bi-annual guitar/bass polish-fest. I can't stand to case 'em, as I want instant access for inspiration and recording, but they do get dusty and even tacky, filling my little dining room.
