The Kramer Club

OK, another 'son-of-Kramer' has arrived: VACCARO X-RAY

This one sounds GROWLY ( must be the pickups ).
It's got the great big ringy sound, of course. It will be interesting to hear it next week after it gets its EMGs installed. Despite having the identical neck and body as my Hartke XK-4, it weighs exactly one pound less

Does anyone out there have some playing experience with a Lumie Headless Voyager? Not looking for opinions. Im looking at one on-line, and the strap button location likely makes it a fight to play. But it is short scale, which might make it a better player. Also, the pickup location looks like it will be trebelly......

I have one and it balances pretty well. Pretty punchy but plenty of bottom.

I got my old Duke out and played it seeing how it rarely sees the light of day since I committed to playing in a ZZTop Tribute band 4 years ago.
I was wondering if anyone would know how much this would be worth on the market today if I was to let it go ?
It is in really good condition for it's age and I still have all the original electronics in the original case. I installed an EMG 35P4 that sounds a whole lot better than the stock setup.
Thanks
Eddie

One of my early, silly basses. Bought the white one first. Liked it, but decided I wanted the black one. Then decided I wanted a different pickup and a white pickguard as a compromise. Took the neck off and realized only two of the four screws actually went through the support block (well, one scraped the side). Still, it didn't look as silly as I did back then.

How did you manage to find room for the battery? :)

I've been Duke-shopping lately, and USD $300-500 seems to be the going rate. Condition, rarity, originality seem to be the deciding factors. Different people have different values! But I am fanatical about 'low action' so the actual playability of your bass would have a big affect on value for me. (As these have no truss rod and the ebonol fretboards have a reputation for being somewhat finicky to refret, the actual state of the fretwire and the neck relief are pretty important...).

Battery ls tight but it fits. I got a new stock toggle Switch and I'm going to put it back to stock. I want to try that EMG TW in my Epi Korina Explorer. I got to looking very closely a The Duke and realized it's got more dings than I realized. The neck and frets are in great shape though. I don't know what the frets are made of but they don't show hardly any wear. Maybe it never really got played much over the years.

I'm not entirely happy with the stock pickup, bit couldn't find a replacement of the same size. Anybody know some that will fit without me having to scoop out extra space?

Old dimarzio model G’s fit great, however if you want a mean ass tone put a Bartolini MMC in there and wow! You’ll have to cut the pickgaurd for hah one. It’s worth it

Hi there Kramer owners!
A question regarding the xkb-20 model, can anyone tell what’s the scale on these? Or did they come in several different scales? I saw some conflicting information online and not sure now.

Thanks!
