The Kramer Club

that is an old Adventure bass. Made in Japan for the Japan market only. Always reminded me of which one came up with the idea first, Kramer or Charvel because it is soooo close ( even the knob layout and body line ) to the Eliminator.

Hey Kramer Fans,

I just purchased what I believe (through some research) is an '83 Pioneer Imperial lefty in white. I'm still waiting for it to arrive. When I used to play guitars I was obsessed with Kramers so it's neat for me to get a bass. FWIR these Pioneers are some of the best Kramers made.

I haven't received it yet but of the few YouTube vids I've seen these basses sound huge. The lady I bought it from says it comes in at a husky 10.5 pounds. Time for some pushups.

If anyone can share their experiences with the Pioneer series that would be neat

From the listing:

I guess I can now join this club of tasty Kramer basses. Since last Friday I am the proud owner of a DMZ 6000B, the bass I have always wanted to have in my collection, the crowning of my collection so to speak. She is all original including the preamp and sounds just like I thought she would punchy and articulate. Thanks to my brother in bass Adam Dranhoff for the help with the acquisition.

Well, this is AWKWARD.... I bought a set of short-scale Tomastik JR324 "Jazz Rounds" to put on my 1984 Kramer Duke - and was just about to put the E string on when I discovered that the 'silk' end is TOO THICK to go through the tuner's hole! Like "just" a tiny bit too thick, the hole could stand to be .010 wider in diameter.

I REALLY like the smooth feel of these strings, so does anyone know offhand of a replacement 'schaller guitar tuner' that has the same mounting holes, but a WIDER hole for the string to pass though? Maybe something more recent, catering to "downtuned seven-string guitarists"?

I don't want to risk drilling out the existing tuners (finicky precision job to widen the existing holes and there is not much metal in them). Of course, all of the various sets of roundwounds I have used over the years have NO PROBLEM fitting through the tuner holes. Just these fancy-schmancy THOMASTIKs...

Hey everyone!
How often does this particular model (Barreta 552s black)with this headstock come around a lot? Did they make a lot? I just stumbled on this bass recently and fell in love! Thanks for any info!

Unless the rules have changed, unfortunately you have to be a supporting member to ask for values of instruments.

Recent Reverb buy... 83 ish Pioneer
Needs a setup, but so far so good.

I'm 95% a guitarist and now somehow have 2 basses, the other is a 2011 Ric 4003. This was an attempt at getting something cool with a more "Fender"-ish tone.

Putting flats on it.

For several years back in the early '90s I owned a Kramer 650 B. It was a vert heavy beast that had a lot of high end and our drummer said it sounded like a screen door slamming. Some flats took care that.

I really liked it except that it was too heavy for me to play comfortably so I had to let it go.
