Double Bass the latest batch of Heretics

So I guess when Hot Rize came out of Colorado they were a little controversial Being hippies and not from the East Coast. Now it seems the latest batch of Heretiks is coming out of San Francisco of all places? Ha ha …via Berklee College of music. You can hear the influence in this song.

Just seeing the video thumbnail, I immediately thought of the amazing and mind-blowing Sierra Hull, also a young woman playing mando, also a Berklee grad (I'm pretty sure).

Don't know what all this talk of heresy is, but I sure do like whatever Sierra Hull is doing:

@bobsax, seeing you're from the South yourself (southern Oregon), I'm guessing the heresy reference is tongue in cheek.

As I'm sure you've encountered, there are some folks who are very skeptical about variance in standard bluegrass, but I'm not one of them.

When we're all off the scene, these are the folks who will own bluegrass. I'd say, more power to them, and long live bluegrass!

Speaking of... Sierra's plugged-in band played near here last weekend. They are killin' it out there. She's grown into a fine front-woman.
