The Lefty Union... Revived!

I actually used to maintain a non-public database with that info, and planned to eventually publish the stats... unfortunately, I stopped updating it around #120 or so. :D

I'll have to dig it up and post it! We need an updated list of all members anyway.

stopped what at 120... inverted players? that's amazing considering how FEW inverts I see besides myself on youtube.

So I wonder if we should add a poll to figure out who we are:

1) Standard Strung Lefty Bass Played Lefty -EADG, BEADG (me)
2) Standard Strung Righty Bass played Left Handed -GDAE
3) Standard Strung Righty Bass played Right Handed by a left handed individual -EADG, BEADG
4) Other

OK, but change #4 to include us inverted guys:

4) Standard Strung Lefty Bass Played Righty (E at the bottom) [me]

Any other variations?

5) ALL OF THE ABOVE......

"all of the above" fit's me :)

180 something youtube videos show all styles :), but yes, lefty inverted is my #1 I just wish I was rich and famous like Haslip or Schmidt, so I could have a bunch of highend customs made lefty but with the inverted setup.

No, I meant I stopped tracking ALL "handedness" data specifics and peculiarities around the time I added our 120th member or so (and that was quite a while ago).

There is a notable population of lefties who play right-handed in this club, but only a marginal subset of lefties who play right-handed basses upside down, and just as few right-handed people who play left-handed basses.

Since then, a lot of new members have been happy to disclose that information without even asking for it, so if I went through this thread and my PMs, I'm sure I could get a truly comprehensive set of statistics in no time.

ok I got it, that's what I figured....

I suppose "inverted" humor is necessary now so........

I had a guy PM me before he ever saw any of my videos and asked "oh wow you play inverted, that must be so cool to watch", "so tell me, how long can you stand it being UPSIDE DOWN before you get a headache from the blood rushing into your brain" :rollno:

one of these day I may do it, but I can't stand being upside down, so I'd be lucky if I could last 2 minutes in ankle shackles on a chin-up-bar hanging from my feet, let alone playing the guitar also :D ( IT WOULD be a first for me, and quite a bit of cool theatrics if I can pull it off )!!!

Hey LU cats... I apolagize if this is outta line, but I stopped by a fav music store of mine.. I hadnt been to in a while & they had a 5 string lefty Alembic, believe it is an Epic..
It looked a lot like this one looking @ itself in the mirror... yuck yuck yuck... ;-)

DOnt know the price, but its @ The Music Store in Chicago located on Irving Park Rd near 1 block east of Kedzie... I think its on consignment & has been there seemily longer than the owner would have liked it to be there so read in to that what you will. That all the info I got... Hope this helps an Southpaw Alembic cat.. It looked like it needed a good home!!

just wanted to show my LEFTY UNION BROTHERS my latest creation...the FrankenCharvel.

this is my lefty 2b, with a standard righthanded neck on it. ( For those who don't know the story, I'm a inverted player like Haslep/Schmidt ), and to toss this neck on a normal orientated body was a cool experiment even though it looks sooooo weird since I have many spare Charvel parts :D

so no nut flipping, since this one already has it the way I need to play on it, 5 minute bolt-on and a little intonation and height adjustment, and viola!!!

bottomline is, it works perfectly and I'll leave it alone for a while and get the audience to say "HUH"?!?, a few times more :):)

talk about a complete opposite from it's original intended use
