My lefties.

I haven't seen too many upcharged Schecters, actually, so it sort-of counts as another good lefty bass manufacturer.

That, and Schecter has more readily-available lefty basses on the internet than any other brand, except Fender.

Go Schecter!

Oh, yeah... you have a PM :D

MysticBoo, I stand corrected. I'm very pleased with my Schecter bass and they do have a number of choices when it comes to lefties. Thanks for giving Schecter the props they deserve.

Bump. When I first took up bass, my dad got me a "left-handed" bass to start off on. My pluckin was right on time, but I just couldn't get my right hand to finger the fretboard properly. After a month of strugglin, I switched to a righty bass (the true left-handed bass IMO) and never looked back.

I've heard that Sting and John Pattitucci felt the same way.

I very much agree with you on the benefits of being lefty and playing a "normal" righty bass. I can do a whole lot more work with my faster, more accurate hand on the fretboard where more of the real basswork is being done. I also learned to put my left thumb to work after seeing Tommy Emmanuel thumb a lot of bass notes on his acoustic guitar.

see, I feel exactly the opposite... fretting has never been a problem for me, it's the picking/plucking that is more challenging. So I'm glad my sinister :ninja: hand handles those duties...

I guess its like anything, really, the way you learn first off will affect how you play for most of your life.

I probably should have been encouraged to learn righty, because there are so many more instruments to choose from. I can't really just pull a bass down off the racks at the music store and play away. Meh.

If I were to be giving advice to lefties who are wanting to start playing, I would probably suggest they learn righty.
