I thought it was fine. Addressed pretty much all of the areas where misaligned expectations can cause problems. Sure, it probably could have been cut down a little without losing the message, but someone who isn't willing to spend 7 minutes reading pertinent info (or at least scanning it), probably is adverse to expending minimal effort in the first place.
I read the whole thing. I enjoyed it and would be happy to play with you guys on those terms.
Usually when I see long posts such as your letter it usually comes off as "I'm a crazy person and here are my demands!". Those kinds of rants can be fun to read but I would never respond to them.
"The Letter" on the other hand was very informative and was done in a manner that did not come off as a rant. I'm also the kind of person who reads the instruction manual all the way through when I buy new things so maybe I'm weird.

I wouldn't say weird but you are not the typical "if all else fails read the manual" sort of guy.
At work people think I'm some sort of tech god/genius because I know how to use all the machines/computers/gadgets. The reality is I have a decent memory and like to read.
You show in the letter a standard of professionalism I dream of in my bandmates....Yet never seem to get from them
That's what I said and I wound up reading it. Like others that have read it mentioned, it's not bad. I actually enjoyed reading it.

I'm thinking much the same and also that it could be a bit more concise but I don't get any bad impressions from it at all. Just the opposite in fact. The picture you paint is a reality for most club acts who also do some casuals and festivals so you may as well tell it like it is to screen out those who want to be part of a national recording act or tour.
I'm an experienced (40 years worth) semi-pro and it's a letter I would respond to if I was looking to join a working band. And I usually am. In it's own way it's more honest, convincing, and sincere than I usually see so other than some brevity in certain sections, maybe less narrative, I wouldn't change the basics and what you want to communicate.
