The lockdown is getting to me, so...

...I decided to try mixing my own shellac and spraying it.

Why are you trying to spray shellac?

Well, because I can, but also because I tried some aerosol shellac for dyed wood (to avoid smearing) and it actually looked really nice even on the undyed parts.

But it doesn’t have to be sprayed. People say mixing your own makes better results anyway, so I’m going to find out.

Sounds interesting. The guy on American Woodshop has sprayed shellac on the show but I don’t remember which or if or how he mixed it.

I can say that my modified HVLP sprays much nicer than the aerosol with Zissner Seal Coat. But the real thing will have to wait a bit.

I am very pleased, and probably not because of the ethanol fumes.
