That was the idea, actually! I have Spector and Foderas, and wanted the Wal sound. I worked with Andrew to make a blend of the Fodera and Spector for the body, neck, etc, then used electronics to get the Wal sound!
Well he definitely nailed it. Throw in a bit Warwick with the Wenge neck.

Multicoil pickups are basically when instead of the poles being matched horizontally to each other, they're matched vertically. Effectively means that each string has it's own humbucker. It allows for exceptional clarity when chording IME.
Individual coil for each pole piece. I guess to emulate the Wal tone.

Yes definitely in the Wal family of tone, but I find them to be a bit more hi fi and clearer in the examples I’ve heard!
Well nothing will sound exactly like a Wal other than a Wal lol. But close is good enough for me
Looks fantastic! I would absolutely love to have a bass like that to grind out some killer BSSM tones. I’m sure it sounds killer and has a ton of tones available at your fingertips. The filter preamps are a class of their own and I love what they do paired up with a nice amp front end. Andrew’s work is amazing and that’s an exceptional example.

You'd be surprised. I have numerous Drakes and Andrew built 2 to my specs. His quality is beyond belief, his instruments are meant to be played (mine gig regularly) and prices are better than some manufacturer's custom shops. You should contact him and inquire. Tell him McKenzie sent you!Wow! That bass is a stunner. I would probably need to sell a kidney to afford one like that. I need to check out the builder. Was looking at the serial number in the 100 thousands, has builder really built that man or did they start numbers with a large round #.
