well, i would have to be pretty silly to not join this club as i have already built about 7 basses and guitars, and although the first ones were pretty rough, the recent ones are actually pretty good.

16 is too thin, you'd need 3 to get to 48 which is would mean you'd have to get rid of around 6mm to get to the standard 42mm. Nice suggestion though!

Huh, I was kinda fearing the same thing, but I know her posts have already helped me understand things about setting intonation etc. And I've got a few in my stable needing each some little attentions so I'm def watching this thread for the learnings.
