The mellowinman Cover Song Thread

With the sunglasses on, you look a little like Waylon Jennings.
This is one I'm very proud of. Three distict vocalists with varying styles. My Peter Cetera is a bit of a stretch, but I think (hope,) I pulled it off. My Robert Lamm I think is spot on, but what I am most proud of is my Terry Kath, who in my mind was the heart and soul of this band.
I ain't gonna lie. I'm a rocker first and foremost. But I'm so proud of this video, especially the Top of the World video, not just because it looks so good, but because it sounds so great! It's in the key Karen Carpenter did it in and that's no small feat.
The Clash was billed as "the only band that matters."
While it remains to be seen how true this is, their seminal album, "London Calling" was the most brilliant album of 1979, according to me and a whole lot of rock critics.
I have attempted a love letter to this beautiful album, and remember The Clash was pure punk rock up until this beautiful post punk, reggae, ska or whatever you want to call this. Their musicianship was amazing. Paul SDimonon's bass playing was good, and he even wrote and a song (included in this tribute,) "the Guns of Brixton."
Topper Headon's drumming was amazing as well, and the entire band just didn't miss abeat on this double album, which I have attempted to distill into the most important songs.

Short of listening to the actual album, this is as good an introduction to the Clash as I could ever imagine.

I am an Elvis Imitator, but not even close to being an Elvis Impersonator. The king of rock and roll died on the toilet.
I have never been as proud of a video as I am of this one. It was literally years in the making.
if you are wondering why there are not more songs in this tribute, it's because QUEEN IS REALLY REALLY HARD.
It's kind of funny. Every time I run into a dude who's bragging about his singing ability he'll be like, "I can sing AC/DC," and I think to myself, "is that really something to aspire to?"
I mean, Bon Scott had a singularly unique style, but it's not something I want to hear all day. Moreso Brian Johnson. Klaus Meiner is pretty good, and the less we say about Ozzy the better.
Anyway, I sing some hard rock every now and t hen, but I think ballads are much harder.

I'm so proud of much of my work on this thread, but none so much as this one.
