O.K..................newby to the club. I originally owned another MV5 but had to sell it for financial reasons. Now I am the proud owner of a CAR MV5 and could'nt be happier!

Did you pick this up off eBay? If so, I was eyeing this one... I wanted it so bad but I wasn't even close to affording it. Great deal you got on it, IIRC.

Congrats, it's beautiful!

Just wanted to share my revelation with my favorite club Bro's... After GAS'in for this bass and that bass, I've decided (which I knew I wanted all along) that I am gonna hold out till I can score another Lull... My credit card is in the bull pen but if I find the right bass/deal it may just get the call. I am hoping to find either an older M5 or a PJ5.

Wish me luck!

Just let us know how you like 'em!;)

Hey Ron, was that you who picked up Kevin Ellis' Geddy V5??? I still want your CAR PJ5... Haha.

Hey Guys, I need your opinion... I'm down to just my M5V now, but I want another Lull - I figured I need a backup, but while I'm at it why not make the backup be as good as and capable of being a main bass, right? Should I sell my Aguilar DB750 and use the cash for an AG500SC and another Lull???

Thoughts please... Here I go again. :rollno:

How's the remodeled M5 doing John (Basso G.)??? Pics!!!

Yep, I just bought that V5 from Kevin. Talk about your small world; I was the original owner of it! I bought it new from the Atlanta Bass Gallery back in 2005. I sold it because I figured I didn't need three Lulls. Was I wrong!

Ron, that is a SWEET bass! There was another one for sale there with an Aguilar preamp. That would be a sweet bass as well.

Bass reunions are a good feeling!:)

Thanks. My M5V has an Audere in it and while I like the combination, it doesn't have the "snap" of my V5. I'm toying with the idea of adding Rotosounds to it for a little bit of "grind". I haven't used Rotos in years as I've been gravitating towards DR strings lately. My PJ5 has LoRiders and my M5V has Marcus Millers on it.

That's funny - I love the tone of the Audere in my Modern 5. It's got the Jazz mojo but smoother and more polite. Makes a good "sit in the mix" bass. Plus, I'm a nickel guy. I like D'Addario nickels for smoother tactile feel.

Let us know how you like that black one when it returns.

Just a follow-up on the MV5 I got recently. I've had time to tweek and adjust it to my liking and have done a few gigs with it. All I can say is WOW!! This bass just smokes! I just had a grin on my face all night long. I finally have the tones I want from a really fat and articulate fingerstyle sound...to a wicked pick sound.......to THE funky slap sound. I"m a VERY happy camper! :hyper: Time to start saving for another one.

I'm with you man! I just love my M5V... And after I added the passive tone control it got even better! Speaking of saving up for another, I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this M5 I have on hold... Details to follow!
