I did MOD on my Squier VM PJ with reverse neck P pup. Stock 13k wound neck pup + Model J on bridge.
Yes. Both, my P-Bass Special and my Jaguar, basically a souped up Jazz. Plus my Modern Player Starcaster!

I was over at my son's house and he had his American Geddy Lee Jazz bass strung BEAD. The action was a mile high so I took it home to set it up for him. I had to tighten the truss rod all the way to get the action into the acceptable range. Granted the Getty Lee has a very thin neck but I didn't feel comfortable with the tension. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing this with a Geddy Lee Jazz bass.

The low B has less tension than a G string. Thus, the total tension is lower in BEAD than EADG.
Always mystifies me that some think BEAD is going to destroy their axe, when, as you point out, BEAD has lower tension on B than the gone G, and therefore total tension is a little less. Garden variety 45-105 rounds that a lot of new basses ship with, is putting the neck of a 34" scale under around 180'ish lbs of tension from the get go. A baseline if you will.
IF you do some kind of balanced BEAD set by reducing the gauges for EAD, as many do, the TT reduction can get you into "backing off" the truss rod a bit. In other words ya neck ain't gonna snap off. My current 34" bass tuned BEAD with Chromes has 36lbs less tension than if it was tuned standard with45-105's Chromes on it

He's tuning the bass C,F,B-flat,E-flat for some reason. He's using the lower 4 strings of a 5-string set. The strings are meant to be tuned to the proper pitch. Try tuning them up a half step and see what happens.

Yes, I should have said that he had BEAD strings on but they were tuned up a half step. The increase in tension by tuning those strings up is remarkable.

Just joined the club . Yamaha BB734 now strung with Roto 77s . 4 String extra long scale from the box of unused strings , leaving the 45 gauge G off , and a 130 extra long . Strung through the body . Very easy set up . Bass was set up with Labella original 54s before so actually had to loosen the truss rod little . All slots in the nut tickled with a file to relieve the slots for bigger strings . Intonation was a breeze with plenty of adjustment . Loving it so far .
But just for information , the extra long 130 , as recommended by Yamaha for through body stringing , has about half a turn of main winding around the tuning post . It doesn't appear to be a problem but I will change it for a regular long scale one when I get round to it .
Now for a go at a rehersal later in the week . I'll get back to you after that , and maybe a few pictures .

The band are more than used to my strange tastes in instruments . Use a 5 string Sire P5R on occasion as well as a Epiphone Jack Casady EADG . And on occasion either of my two homebuilt fretlesses . But I LOVE the Yamaha and it has been getting less use since I got the 5 . Not any more .....
I've modified a G&L Tribute SB-2. This particular SB2 won the wood lottery and is around 7.5lbs, so it's an absolute joy to play!
I’m using an LTD B2005 for Drop B (BF#BE). It’s a 35” 4 string, so it loves these type of drop tunings!
At some point, I’ll likely swap the EMG’s out for Bartolini p’ups/Pre!

Played the BB734 at a rehersal tonight through a TC BQ250 and 112 cab . OMG . Everything that I could want and a bit more . Awesome , spectacular , magnificent etc . Back to my no1 .
What is your string gauge for drop b? I’ve been real interested in trying it but my tech talked me out of it recently.
My two main basses are set up in BEAD.

Yo, venny, I'd say the string gauge you need depends on your scale length and the tension you're looking for. I believe my long scales use .130 and my short scale is .150.
