well hi guys it is a long time since my last thread so last times i've been working on my technique, getting faster but mostly cleaner wich is very important...so i am trying to get some licks to practice...like really fast and complex stuff...it would be really helpful if u guys could post some of the most tecnhical bassists out there, regardless of the style, since i am a great death metal fan i like alex webster, of course roger patterson, dominic forest lapointe, erlend caspersen and alikes

Look at jaco pastorius and his work with weather report and solo stuff. A few specifics might be Donna Lee, A remark you made, teen town, etc...

Walk around for a few months playing 16th notes with your right hand while randomly skipping strings, and you'll get it. You can mute with your left hand and not plug the bass into anything. The notes don't matter in this instance. The idea is building up the stamina in your right hand. In time, add your left hand and read a transcription of What Is Hip. It's actually one of the easier songs Rocco plays with TOP.

I've always been blown away by how clean the bass parts are played on spastic inks album ink complete. I haven't personally attempted any of them as of yet, but I'd be willing to bet they'd be a b*%#h.
