Hey guys,

Been thinking about buying a distortion/fuzz pedal for a little while now and thought I might consult the brain trust here on TB. At this point in time I am tossing up between the El Grande, M80+ and the Blow Torch. I want to overdrive my bass to the point where it sound's like the gates of hell opening, but not with ridiculous fuzz that notes become mud. Adam Duce from Machine Head had the most evil tone I had ever heard when I saw them live a few years ago, so I did a bit of digging and saw that he uses the El Grande pedal.

New to this whole pedal thing!!

I have the Bass Envelope Filter and the Micro Flanger and until recently the M80. I plan on getting the Bass Octave pedal when money is better. Nothing but love for MXR just wish they made a synth pedal I'm not too thrilled with my Boss SYN-3.

Just pulled the trigger on a MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter.

I got the Phase 90 script reissue... sounds great, but no LED and I had to run a battery clip adaptor out the side to plug it up. Definitely my fave effect of all time; a little dash of it makes some guitar FUNKY and bass squishy!

As a guy who plays guitar also and likes funky rhythm, the MXR Dyna Comp "Little red Brick" is another of my all time faves. I don't own one now- I have a Boss CS-3 and an Ibanez BP10- but I'll get another one day I think.

MXR carbon copy (LOVE THIS PEDAL!) and MXR Envelope Filter (Fun for when I'm practicing at home, but I don't play a lot of funk in bands, so I rarely use it live).

Been thinking about adding the Bass Fuzz Deluxe... anyone have any opinions of it? How does it compare to pushing a SansAmp BDDI? I don't use distortion or fuzz in live settings, but at home I find it fun. However, I'm not a big fan of overly distorted bass. Thoughts?

Just got a Carbon Copy and an El Grande Fuzz a couple of months ago. I enjoy them both but find the Fuzz to be too much when playing with a band. I usually only mess around with them when I practicing by myself. I am currently pondering the M80+ or a Pork Loin in place of the Fuzz. I've heard good things about both.
