I am not the world's biggest chorus lover, but if you like warm tones vs something like a Boss which is more steely and hard, the BCD is pretty sweet. I've heard it's based off the old black TC Stereo Chorus + Flanger, only the BCD doesn't do stereo unless you hook up a TRS-to-double-TS Y cord and flip an internal switch to TRS. But I love it because of its warmth, and the flanger won't do rocketship sounds but it does do some cool rotating-speaker type stuff.

I have been researching Chorus pedals, for a purchase later this year. I currently have the MXR Carbon Copy. I have watched reviews on:
-Keeley Seafoam
-Walrus Julia
-Aguilar Chorusaurus
-Ampeg Liquifier
-Fairfield Shallow Water
And several others.
A lot of the pedals broke up when you got past noon. I don't see the point of having that much unusable dial. Some of the pedals had dipswitches for "bass mode". Some just said "works for bass too".

Maybe it's just me. If I am spending $200 on a pedal, I want it to do the thing for which I bought it. Not kind of do it. Not sort of do it.

Knob positions are meaningless. Whether one pedal breaks up at higher on the dial or lower, as long as you have enough to do what you need, that's all that's important. How much louder than unity gain do you want to be, anyway? But the CC, while a great analog delay with awesome degrading repeats and a little wobbly switch that can kinda sorta do chorus, wasn't really a sub for chorus for me, either.

Jimmy me bucko, I swear MXR should be sending you dividends. You know more about their stuff than anyone I've run into on line.That said it's a great thing to feel that way about a product especially if it is doing a good job for you.I'm 63 with my best gigging days behind me and now that all this wonderful gear is available and I have the means to get most of what I want I lack a stage to use it on.Life is cruel.

Do it! I have an ISO brick and I love it. Very light and has butt tons of power. Only drawback is the wall wart, but that's not too hard to deal with. The cheap Chinese power supplies that claim isolation really don't isolate the power outputs.

I just stumbled on this in my searches! I currently have 2 MXR pedals...they're awesome!

I actually just posted this question in the general effects forum and got some good feedback, but would love to hear what you guys think?

The latest pedal is the MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe. I love it, but after using it a few times I kind of wish I had a separate flanger so I don't need to reach down to activate it.

Do any of you guys have both the MXR BCD along with a separate flanger? Or should I return it and get separate chorus and flanger pedals? Or maybe it just isn't a big deal...realistically, I would only need to reach down to turn it on maybe twice during a gig.

After the feedback I got, I think I might try to add the Micro Flanger in addition to the BCD...any experience/thoughts with this?

I'm actually thinking of picking up the regular MXR Flanger pedal myself (I have the MXR Stereo Chorus, which is similar to the Bass Chorus Deluxe).

I like the larger size, and it is at 18v so it has a lot of headroom. Plus, to me, it sounds really good!

I have the BCD and a couple flangers, but when I need both, I invariably just bring the BCD, bend down, and flip the little button.

Sweet board! I've heard the Micro Flanger can have give an unwanted volume boost...have you noticed this? I'm also going to add an overdrive pedal...do you have any experience with the Bass Distortion or Bass Overdrive?

Thanks! I have not noticed any increase in volume using the Micro Flanger. No experience with the Bass Distortion or Overdrive.

I love the sparkly MXR pedals for some reason. I'm not flashy gear wise (or otherwise I guess ;)) but I think they look great!

Own an MXR M81, which is the first DI I ever bought. I've owned an SCR-DI twice, a Sansamp Para DI twice, a Keeley Bassist twice, look for one to hit the classifieds soon... Owned a Zoom MS60b twice, keeping this one. Turns out, that the M81 plus the MS60b is all I really need...
Crazy how the "chasing shiny objects" thing works. 2019 has been my year of paring down... I have sold several pedals, an electric guitar, looking to sell a 5 string Squier Jag Bass... I think this is what may start to be known as anti-gas...
