I really dig my M-80+, just recorded on a live blues session (no amp)and I could not believe how sound is great with my P5, it was like using a tubey amp, never been happier, I had same result with a folk rock project, but this thing is just so great for dirty blues tones and for clean tone as well turned down the fx blend :bassist:

Had an M80... returned it for the VTBass deluxe

Both great pedals but the M80 is much more transparent when bypassed and dead quiet

The distortion on the VTbass is definitely more familiar but I think the M80 is a supremely underrated active DI with additional features.

I returned the VTBass deluxe and got the M80 back

I've grown to like the color switch and the distortion is fun for messing around... I'm not much of a distortion guy to begin with but it is neat

I just wish the color feature was defeatable on the distortion channel and that there was a seperate eq for the two channels... but I can live with it. I use the pedal as an active DI 90% of the time in bypass mode, 18% of the time with the color switch on for the clean channel on songs needing a light touch (balads) and the distortion 2% when I want a weird effect for a song intro/outro.

I have an GCB-100, which I had to replace the felt switch thing with a furniture caster.
I also have an MXR M-109 from when I used to play guitar. I don't really remember where I put it because I don't use it, though. I also plan on eventually getting a carbon copy.

I'll join in.

On bass clef guitar:
micro chorus, carbon copy, Crybaby Bass (105Q)

On treble clef guitar:
phase 90 (with R28 mod), Full Bore Metal, Black Label Chorus

MXR pedals are well built, 'affordable' effects. Definitely, one of the best 'mass produced' effects pedal companies out there.

I'm a late comer to this group, my 2 MXR pedals are original, Noise Gate/Line Driver/DI and a beat to heck blue 6 band EQ. The NG/LD has been on all my pedal boards since it was bought new in '79. The 6 band EQ has been in the trick box almost as long.

Sadly I don't really dig the newer MXR/Dunlop stuff.
