BUT I know I'd find the bass uncomfortable....... notice how the upper strap lock is 2 frets further away from the nut than a JO that would make the low positions further away from my reach challenged body.

Yup...we ran a contest when the bass was in developmet and Rich came up with the "Decade" name. It was originally slotted to be called the "Hornet" and have a 2+2 headstock.

The prototype, at least, looks kinda Wal-ish. The model on the site looks different, gets away from the Wal look, especially the headstock makes the difference. I like the looks. How much are these running on the street?
One of these in shoreline gold or sherwood green might just be the ticket to cure my GAS.

How much are these running on the street?

That depends on if you want a basic passive model or one like the blue one with active electronics, blocks and binding and matching headstock.

Base retail starts at $4,000 so street is $2,800 +/-

They go up from there...the blue one with all the add-ons would sticker out at $5,500 and have a street of $3,850 +/-

Keep in mind my "street" prices are based on "MAP" pricing so there's some wiggle room beyond that depending on the dealer.

Yes, there will be a Skyline version sometime in the future.

You're in Chicago...call Dan up and pop over to the factory and play one. Mine is still there (the natural one on the factory website) and you're most welcome to check it out.

You can't buy it though because I had Joe Osborn, Bob Glaub, Jerry Scheff, Darryl Jones and Duck Dunn all autograph the back of the body at the factory in March before it was clear coated.
