The New Decade is Here!!!

Boy, you can really see Dude's influence in that design! Dude, am I mistaken or does that bass have a definite Ovation Magnum vibe?

I had nothing to do with the body shape design....just the use of Dark Stars and the name via Rich on the Pit.

To me, it seemed to have more of a Guild Jet Star vibe to it but now that you mention it, it does have a tad of Magnum to it doesn't it?

I also initially poo pooed the use of a pickguard on it but that Lake Placid blue one has me rethinking this decision.

Now I know why they call it the Decade. It's because it looks like the kind of crap that used to circulate pawn shops a decade ago. Sorry, but I don't like it.

You were looking around pawn shops when you were only 8??? Wow!

Then again, I'm Jazz bass for life, so......I guess I'm messed up.

Everybody knows that no serious bass players play Jazz basses.

:D

psst: The Fender Jazz bass was first made in 1959 and is also "vintage".

It's not necessarliy better than a Jazz but just different. Different in terms of sound, playability, and quality of construction. Comparing a $1000 Fender to a $3000 Lakland, you can expect some differences in the quality of components used and the quality of the workmanship. I'd probably take a Jazz over this instrument though, just based on personal preference.
