The New Epiphone Thunderbird Pro V

I just picked this up from Matt. WOW! It took me a while to figure out which knob was which, but once I figured the Blend was UNDER the Vol Knob the tones where easily dialed in. The "B" is a "B"east! And the neck is super easy to play. There is a Hint of Neck Dive, but I will be adding strap locks, and Modding both locations. I had an RD Artist that I moved the rear button the the Point on the top of the body. HUGE improvement!

Here's my Son playing the Family Heirloom:

Quick note for those of you with the Pro V - the standard Epi Thunderbird case fits it perfectly. Whether it will fit in an older Epi case is debatable, but the new stock of Epi cases is perfect. I bought this one: Epiphone Tunderbird Case

and here is the result:

The case has plenty of room near the headstock, which is good even for vintage style 'Birds. I imagine it would fit a Gibson 'Bird as well but I don't have one here to try. The case has a nicely molded cavity and fits around the raised center section on the Pro V perfectly. No idea how it'll hold up in the long run but it suits the bass just fine.

Did anyone else have a problem intonating their B string? I had to remove the spring and cut the screw down in order to get the saddle back far enough. Seems like the bridge could be a few mm farther back from the neck...

I put a set of these into a 92 Les Paul STD, which had T-Bird guts. HUGE Improvement. I wired it up with a 3-way DPDT switch to get Series/SingleCoil/Parallel on each pick up. T-Bird Meets Roscoe Beck in a Les Paul! And if you want it, it still gets a Nice MudBucker tone by going Parallel-Squared, Bridge on Full Mud, Neck about 5.
