Double Bass The new Markbass NY 604 Cabinet

Markbass coming out with a very intresting new cabinet. For first glimpse it seems a good URB speaker.

IMPEDANCE
8 ohms (4ohms would be better for me)
SPEAKER SIZE
4x6 in. (thats very intresting, good for details)
TWEETER
1" compression driver with custom horn
POWER HANDLING ( i dont know)
600W RMS (AES Standard) (absolutely enough, to mutch for me @8 ohms)
FREQUENCY RESPONSE
45 Hz to 18 kHz ( maybe has enough bottom despite the 6 ich drivers)
SENSITIVITY
100 dB SPL ( seems loud enough)
WEIGHT
33lbs / 15 kg (very portable!)

Barcza,
Maybe this is the cabinet we have all been waiting for, hard to say.
I do know that I played through the Mini Mark and the Phil Jones briefcase is much more suited to what I like in an amplifier. I haven't heard anyones opinion on the Markbass cabs only the heads like the Little Mark and F1. Chime in folks.

Actually Ric I think there are some reviews for some of the Markbass cabs in this forum for those that might want to search a bit. The funniest one I can recall was when Adrian Cho said their 2x10 reminded him of a Hooter's logo.

Maybe macmrkt will get us an inside scoop. I think he's tried a lot of their cabs w/ DB and slab.

:) This is the hotter? I had to search a bit for, becouse in europe I didn't see this, but seems nice food. This new cabinet maybe sounds different than the rest of Markbass cabs, this 4x6 solution, look very cool like a mini 4x10 cab. It could be a good mix of details, power and size.

LOL. Sorry, yes Barcza, Hooters is probably more well know for their female wait staff and their skimpy uniforms than their food. :) If you search a bit you'll probably come across that motif loud and clear.

Ahem ... Yes the Phil Jones cabs that Ric mentioned use 5" drivers, and lots of them in various cab configurations. They seem to get good reviews for use w/ DB, at least in this forum.

Yes, I saw the girls on the web,:) cool. I tried a Phil Jones BRIEFCASE combo with elbass, I didn't liked it. It sounded somehow "rigid", otherwise lacks of warmt but was pretty loud for it's size. I didn't tried the speakers. PJ uses some aluminium drivers, like hartke?

They are his own design. He is using neo's in the newer Flight case and Super Flight Case Cabinets. They don't look like the earlier aluminum cones used in the Briefcase and Suitcase, so it's my feeling that these newer boxes that Double Bass players are using sound a little warmer than the older ones.
