That's why wedding receptions should pay more...a LOT more!

They do pay more.
Most bands I know at least double their fee and those are the ones that don't target weddings as such.
If you are a $600 occassional bar band, but pretty good by local standards, then you are asking for $1500, and likely easily getting 1200 for weddings.
