I'm of the opinion that the side markers (not the ones in the center of the fretboard) need to be something you can actually see, unless this is just a showpiece. Perhaps "glow in the dark".

Kudos on your bass! While there is room for "blacker", it`s still a pretty sharp-looking bass.

Yeah, I think it'd look really sharp and be appropriate if the neck were stained transparent black so the grain could still be visible. (I'd have done the body the same but, it looks cool as it is!)

I did that once on a Telecaster bass (the 32" model with a Tele body). I was ok, and I gigged it a few times. A few months later I changed it back to stock and later sold (at a giveaway price) it to a talented guitarist friend who was getting started on bass.

I dig your concept and execution, here is my take on Midnight Brunet aka Peavey DynaBass Unity LTD. I have a set of blcks coated Dr strings that I will eventually get around to but the old set of D'Addario strings sound so rich.

Oh I'd totally agree.... and I tried that. They didn't have screws with the right profile. So I hit the EZ button.
