I just went through 49 pages of the first thread and I'm sorry I did (since I decided I've got to have one!); I love Carey's work (I use a pair of his dual-coils on my six-string) and I think I will be ordering a Nordy in the next six months or so. What's the waiting time on these basses at the moment?

I can't remember if this has been discussed in the first part of this thread, but has anyone who switched from a Vintage style to a B style hipshot bridge noticed any tonal differences or is it purely form factor/aesthetics?

I like the B better myself, but last I heard Carey was only shipping Nordy's with a vintage style.

yup, its an option. I'll have proof in a couple weeks! Ptidwell has one, and there are a few others out there IIRC. You can also get a setup that is routed to allow you to switch between PJ & JJ. Slick!

Yes, one of my customers named Rolando Pizana has a beautiful VJ5 PJ with a three tone burst and a tort guard. There are pictures of it in another thread here in TB somewhere.

I switched from the stock bridge to the Hipshot B-style. The difference is not night and day, but I'd say that the low B is a tad more strong on the Hipshot (which is what I was after), though the stock bridge had a somewhat more 'vintage' vibe to it.

Cool, thanks for the info- Since they're both hipshots, was it an easy replacement? No drilling or anything like that?
