I'd go with the proline, if it was me I'd take the 210 or 410 but that depends on your volume needs, the 410 would cover almost anything.

I haven't run my Fafner at 2 ohms, but at 4 ohms it really seems to thrive. At 8 (and one cab) I feel like I just don't have the headroom I need, but at 4 (and two cabs) it's tremendous. Right now I'm running it into two Eden boxes: a 410XLT and a 212XLT. The set work wonderfully together.

I'd love to check out some EBS cabs but they're so hard to find here and nearly impossible to find used. I tried their 2x12 at a place in NY and it was great, but man they're pricey...

Yes, Fafner sings at 4 or 2 ohms load. At 8 ohms Fafner missing something.

Bass Gear Magazine #12 is now live, and it includes reviews of the Link Removed and Link Removed.

Nice review of the Reidmar. Similar design to the TC RH450, with all that super compression to make a relatively low wattage amp seem much louder than you would think. Makes sense, and is kind of what some of us guessed a while back when this came out.

That being said, with the very low cost of truly high powered Class D/SMPS modules, you wonder why they went through all the trouble of making a 100 watt amp sound like a 300 watt amp or whatever, and didn't just spec out a 300 watt ICE module or whatever. Simpler, obviously less compressed, and I would think not that much more expensive for them to produce.

That being said, I guess there is a place in the market for that kind of super-processed sort of response that your power plots show nicely. Like always having a nice compressor in your signal chain I guess. Not my thing, but it seems, just like TC, they did a pretty good job of this.

It would be interesting to understand the 'why' of this... pure cost, or something else?

Edit: Nice issue... good reviews, lots of good info in this one IMO!

With little money to spare and few options on the second hand marked, my choice was this offer from Norwegian store 4Sound:
Invalid Link Removed

Its a bundle with the EBS Reidmar and 2x EBS ClassicLine 112 cabs.

I can't wait to get my hands on it (thats right, a mail-order rig. Oh, 2013).

Anybody else got experience with this particular setup?

The first time I played through a borrowed one, I had to have one. Fortunately I found one from a fellow TBer.

May I have a number?

This is one of the rare places on the internet where one can say, "nice rack", and not be considered sexist. ;o)

LLendrum posted a request ahead of you, but still hasn't posted a photo, so, you get number 51. Welcome! :bassist:
