I'm picking one up this week to review for the Dutch bass magazine.the new AV II 1954 P looks cool.
I have a Miami blue one. I really like it so my OCD kicked in and told me I need a spare so I bought a black one. Also very stellar that one so...I got a Mystic Seafoam one so at least one would be rosewood, I mean OCD and all. The only caveat being the V Mod IIs aren't everyone's cup of tea. They sound a bit modern not thumpy vintage but definitely P bass sound and I'm cool with that. I have ones for that sound. Very articulate. Look funny. But I am really enamored with them and the fit, finish, build quality. As with anything made of a tree, they are all different so try it out. I got 3 really good trees. YMMVSorry, I know everyone is excited about the new P’s that are out. I have a question about the American Pro ll P. How do these rate among the P player’s? This would be my fist P and want to make sure it’s a good one. I’m buying used at $1200.
Thanks
Beautiful instrument- but you can't hang it from a wall from the headstock!I like your way of thinking. This one arrives on Thursday.

It’s a sunburst finish with a maple fretboard. I wanted to change the guard to a anodized gold one. Any recommendations on where to find one that fits a pro ll?

You will need to find one of the 13 hole ones, not the reissue ones and Dremel the truss rod notch yourself. Measure twice, Dremel once.

Search ebay and put "13 hole" in your query. I've seen them there before. A regular one will fit but you'll be drilling a few new holes. That never bothered me since if it were switched back they are covered.Thank you. Do you have any recommendations on where to buy one?
