Yes mate. Later reissue guitar and kahlers on both the guitar and bass. Cheers.Very nice! The six string is the later '90's reissue with a few changes from the original. Is that a Kahler trem on it? I wish they had put two pickups on it but... I like the stripe outlining the guitar so that's why it is going back on the bass.
I need a truss rod cover for the bass. Original is damaged. You have one by chance?
The shipping for a guitar that long to Australia would probably cost more than the guitar.I'll sell you a truss rod cover if you sell me the bass haha
Yeah, I was very disappointed when I seen the neck on it when I received it. That is the weakest point on any guitar neck, thinnest and hollow due to the truss rod bore. It is glued on very well now. It's been a year ago he started it, (not one to rush), He is doing it in his spare time and his wife gives him little of that LOL. So it has had a year to set and should be as solid as it will ever be. I explained at the start of the post about the glue, very strong stuff. Between him being busy and a back injury, it is taking much longer than I thought but it will be worth it. I will post any new pics when I can. Thanks for the interest. While the body style is not my cup of tea, I am ALWAYS impressed with the work of others to restore instruments back to their original glory. The point of the break looked like a terrible spot for a break. That's the spot we most often find ourselves playing. It looks like the repairs were done to make it super strong and smooth. From one (former) Long Islander to another, I am really eager to see how this turns out.
