You didn't go for oval knobs too? JK, looks great and going light on black burst seems like a smart move on a selected top. 32" or 34"?Order and deposit is in! A few subtle changes are I asked for a thinner blackburst, oval Inlays and I picked my top!View attachment 4283292
Oval knobs would certainly be interesting to say the least lol. 32" and 17mm spacing. You didn't go for oval knobs too? JK, looks great and going light on black burst seems like a smart move on a selected top. 32" or 34"?

I am really happy with my Maruszczyk basses. (I have 3 of them...a P/J, J and J/Humbucker). I never really looked seriously at the Mensinger basses. They seem a bit lower priced. Are they a lower quality bass or are they created by the same craftsmen/luthiers with the same materials? Are they the same company or different owners?

I have 3 Maruszczyks and a Mensinger and the quality is identical given what BassmanM just noted. I went with a Cazpar to approximate a "Frog-Lite" and was very happy.I am really happy with my Maruszczyk basses. (I have 3 of them...a P/J, J and J/Humbucker). In the builder there's an option for stripe Inlays and that's the pic I took the screenshot of. The ovals that I ordered isn't in the customizer for this model and asked for it in the comments. If a bass screams luminal knobs this is it. I'm just trying to figure out what those lines going across the fretboard are for.
As much as I dislike the color blue, most of my recent configurator builds have been that color, looks good.

I'm a sucker for blue basses personally, my favorite color.
Good to know....(but why have 2 brands?) Is it like Lakland and other basses being made in the same factory (Cort)?
No. Here's a brief history for you. As mentioned, Mensinger is an established instrument manufacturer in Poland. Adrian Maruszczyk is a Polish bassist who lives in Germany. One day, he designed his signature bass, the Frog, and had it built by Mensinger. He then decided to get into the instrument business and formed a kind of joint-venture with Mensinger to build Frogs as well as Elwoods and Jakes. That's how it all started.
You got me on that oneI was referring to the frets![]()

I ordered the LuminLay knobs for my bass. It should be a striking effect. If a bass screams luminal knobs this is it.
@Blue Talon
My Maruszczyk is absolutely stunning in person.
Imo, the build quality is up there with the best.
I chose an Aguilar preamp to pair with Delano
pickups, and the tone is what I envisioned (uncolored, clean and melodic).
It's my best sounding bass, and I think all of my keeper basses sound fantastic!
I requested a bass in the 9 lb. range, and the bass is slightly
less which is close enough. I also requested a bass with perfect
balance, and it's the best balancing bass I have ever laid hands on.
There isn't a single thing that I would change on my bass, I
got exactly what I paid for. I love my Maruszczyk bass.

(Here's another gratuitous post of my configurator.)

These are my first humbucker type pickups. I listened to a million demos on YouTube, and Delano TS always sounded best (articulate, melodic and good output) to my ears. I don't think you can go wrong if you choose them.Beautiful instrument! How do compare the sound of those pickups to others you have played?
