The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

I have never laid hands on a Fodera, Ken Smith, MTD.......
I think my new Maruszczyk is probably as good as any boutique bass
out there regardless of price. I'm no expert, but I think the build
quality of my bass is flawless!

Anyone else feel the same way about their Maruszczyk basses?

I'm not wearing NBG (New Bass Goggles) like some TB members who get
overly excited and quickly fall out of love with their basses.
I've played my bass for a couple of weeks now, and I think Maruszczyk built me an incredible bass.
It's hard to express in words how happy I am with my new Maruszczyk
(stunning looks, great tone, great playability, proper weight and perfect balance)!! :)

Everytime I pick mine up and start playing I'm reminded that this was the best poor financial decision I've made in a while. I absolutely love the feel of the neck and fretless fretboard, the balance and weight thrown in are just icing on the cake. My proper rig is at the band space, but even unplugged it sounds great. I dont know if it's the chambered body (which IRC is what makes it so light) but man is she resonant. I'm not one to name instruments and have owned alot over the years, but this one got a name.

Edit: I'm only at 5 days new owner still but have played it over 24 hours total.

Like me, you are probably in disbelief that the bass that you configured was built to perfection meeting and exceeding your expectations! We are both very lucky! :)

I have just ordered a new bass from Adrian using the configuration and email questions to him. I will post the updates as they occur.
I currently have 3 maruszczyk basses and want to sell one of my least played ones to help me finance this new order. (Don't NEED 4 of them :) If you know of anyone that is just learning about maruszczyk basses, please pass my posting on to them. Mine is in brand new condition.
For Sale - Maruszczyk Elwood L 5a -24 "Brand new" condition

Question for those who have purchased directly from Adrian maruszczyk.....The web site says that the buyer is responsible for any import duties or taxes. I live in the Phoenix area and have purchased bass guitars that were shipped to me from Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia and never had any extra charges. Has anyone in America incurred any extra charges in duties or taxes from a maruszczyk shipment? I just ordered a new one from the configurator last night. Also had difficulty sending PAYPAL via "friends and family" it would not give me that choice.

I ordered directly through Adrian, received mine in Vermont a few weeks ago and had no fees added.

Boy, I got scared regarding the "unknown" extra fees. Randy from bass spotlight was telling me that there would be duties, fees and taxes if I order direct from Adrian. HMMMM, maybe he is trying to scare me! I ordered last night from Adrian and the website

Maruszczyk Elwood L 5A with a Golden Madrone top and Delano Alnico 5 Jazz and Humbucker, 4 band eq Noll. I had to request the top because it is not listed on the configurator. Similar to this but with the other pickups. Also ordered birdseye maple fingerboard. Couldn't decide on the pickguard so I ordered 3 of them...hahaha. Clear, Tort and cream pearl. It looks like this:

that was my question. Of course the sales reps that are authorized to sell for Adrian in the US claim that they can get you a better price. The guy I talked with about a bass that was already in his possession. When I found that I did not like the pickups on that particular bass (ceramic pickups---not my favorite), he suggested that I use the configurator and let him order it for me. I compared the price on the website with the bass he was selling that had almost the identical goodies and specs and the price was the same as buying from him as the website. So, he claims that he saves me from the duties and taxes and shipping. I don't know and that is why I posed the question to those of us that live in the USA and have purchased from Adrian at the website, whether there was actually added duties and taxes that needed to paid in addition to the sales price.

I wonder also what real savings you can get. The only downsides to me not having to wait for the time difference in email responses from Adrian and possible language differences. (Although Adrian seems quite good with English). The price seemed the same to me from the website to what the US guy was asking. I guess the "potential" for savings is there. If the USA rep gets a dealer price that is discounted, how much of that savings will he pass on to us, the buyer?
