The Standard Big 19mm bridge is a pretty good design. That same bridge is used on Kiesel JB and PB basses, as well as a couple others I can’t think of right now.

It is manufactured by Sung-il, a Korean company that makes about a hundred different bridges.
It is the BB404/BB405 model

I actually bought one for a project that never happened and still have it in a box 10 years later.

it has saddle locking set screws that come in from the top, I noticed that Maruszczyk does NOT use those screws. They just leave them out. In my experience with that bridge, sometimes if you need to intonate the saddle to its extremes (forward or back) you may not be able to use that locking screw, so it’s best to just leave it out.

I actually have an Ibanez SR2605 and to the eye it looks like the Ibanez monorails are taller. I think the body on the Ibanez are routed out for them and these from Maruszczyk are surface mounted.

I wish the Configurator showed what shorter scale options would look like, or at least had a disclaimer that the short scale options would look different with examples. I've ordered an Elwood 30 knowing it'll look different to the Configurator image, and I've just had to imagine exactly what it'll look like.

It'd be even worse for someone not knowing the body shape changed with scale length, if they ordered a bass and found out it looked completely different 4 months later when it arrived.

I placed my order and put down a deposit this morning for this Jake 30"

Swamp Ash (trans White)
Flamed Maple neck & fretboard (Black sparkle dots)
Nordstrand NP4A
Hipshot hardware (string through body)

I borrowed a pic from one of @road-cat1 posts and sent to Adrian as an example of what I would like for the type of Swamp Ash grain. Hopefully he can make it happen. :thumbsup:

Last night, I sent in my deposit on a fretless 5 string Mensinger Cazpar. I can't wait. It will be an unlined Katalox fingerboard, 17mm spacing, with Delano Xtender pickups, series/parallel/single-coil switches for each pickup, passive controls, and a ramp that acts as a fingerboard extension between the end of the fingerboard and the neck pickup. I chose an alder body with Caribbean rosewood for the top. Adrian already sent me tops to choose from, and included some Koa options as well ... I ended up going with one of the Koa choices.

I've wanted a fretless 5 string short scale for some time, and am very excited for this one! Here's the photo from the configurator (minus the ramp, of course), and the photo of the Koa top:

That looks great. Are you going to notch the ramp for truss adjustment or leave it solid and attach it in an easily removable way?

Thanks! He's building it with a notch for adjustment. It will result in a small area that I can't use as a fingerboard, but I mostly want the extended fingerboard for extra range on the g string, so I'm fine with that.

I just sent an email to my Maru dealer and asked if he could contact Adrian to see if he has some more Koa because I would really like to have a Koa top & headstock on my short scale Jake that I just placed an order for on Friday. The only option when building my Jake for a top wood was Flamed Maple so I just went with a solid Swamp Ash body. I literally just sold a custom 32" warmoth with a selected Koa top that I loved but now I'm only playing short scales and would like to recreate that again. Looking forward to seeing your Bass complete and hoping that I can get a nice Koa top for my Jake P :thumbsup:

Did he send you multiple choices for the Koa tops he has?
