The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

Well, I thought if my Paddock was going to be delayed due to custom components… maybe it would be the Richter custom pre-amp… or… maybe the custom ETS bridge with the Piezo saddles… or?

Nope neither of those, it's the Nordstrand Zen Blade pickups that are back ordered and late! :banghead:o_O c'mon Carey, what's the deal?!!

Ohhhh...I'm having Zen blades put in my 30" Cazpar on order. I bet mine is taking longer for those also. I'm at the 10 week mark for my order. The rest of my Cazpar build is pretty simple. Did you find out from Randy about your Zen Blade hold up?

Yeah, I hit 15wks yesterday so I had him check in with Adrian to see where the hold up was. Although BBG had them in stock right now so it's possible to get them

I'm Having them put Aguilar preamp and DCBs in my Cazpar so hopefully it's not gonna be delayed (I'm at 7 1/2 weeks on that one). I submitted updated pickup placement/dimensions last week, so hopefully that one is moving quicker.

And my own custom build will take me <2wks to complete :woot:

Those pickups have to go from the US to Poland. Under normal (pre-2019) conditions, not an issue. But it was part of the reason I chose Delanos for my Frog build last year. (That, and the fact that Delanos are outstanding pickups.) Basically, any bass I have made in Europe will be getting European pickups, so there's just that much less to worry about.

If I thought I'd be taking a hit on quality by doing that, I wouldn't do it. I won't put anything less than top tier pickups in my instruments.

Yep understood there is definitely a logistics challenge there, so these pickups should have been on order months ago or as soon as the order was placed.

Hello Maruszczyk clubbers.

If I generally like the Warwick sound, are there Frog options that get me in that neighborhood?

I don't want it to sound just like a Warwick....I already have a few...but I want it more in that neighborhood than a J bass or a Stingray for e.g. which I either have and rarely use or have bought a couple times and couldn't vibe with.

Not sure about what Warwicks sound like, but since you can choose pickups and woods and everything else for your Maruszczyk bass, I cannot think of a reason you wouldn't be able to get the kind of sound you like.

Probably more about the electronics and the wood selections. As you know, I have both so on my Cazpar build I did Wenge fretboard with slanted pickups… my nod to Warwick tone

The Cazpar has 22 frets and the configurator does not have the option to choose 24. However, someone mentioned that the Cazpar can be ordered with 24 frets. Is that correct?
Yes my Cazpar was ordered through Bass Spotlight with 24 frets and 32"

If going direct, you can contact Adrian for a quote on any special options like 24 frets

You can add notes on the order, before you send the request.

Or you can design the bass in the configurator, and send the sheet by mail to [email protected] and ask Adrian what is possible.
Yep I asked Adrian for a bunch of stuff... Thin neck profile like on my geddy Lee bass and custom wiring!

Such a nice dude. Got my custom bass from order to my hand in 3 months!

Here she is in all her majestic glory... I'm like the aul lad in brave heart "I'm a happy man son"

That's wicked, love the pickups, reverse headstock and the thin neck with 24 frets… now that is a P bass!

Not to mention the custom wiring I got done...all passive v/t/v/t the mm tone pot has a push pull for series/parallel modes Those Delano pups man, very very tasty indeed. Havent gotten to play with the band yet but jamming at home and they cut through the mix like a knife through some good Irish butter.
pc 4 al + mc 4 al models.

Hahaha when I grow up I want a bass like that!! Sweet Nora!

I got these dudes online to do the diagram for me but all passive (v/t/v/t with mm tone push pull for parallel/series)

I didn't open it up to see if Adrian added some extra spice because it just sounds so lovely.

Nice to be passive again as my frankengeddy is with a customized Johneast preamp. Added a 3 way switch for series/parallel/coil tap
