Standing in for a friend's band next week, and just picked up my Maruszczyk for a quick run through the 30 minute set. That was two hours ago.

I'm probably still in the honeymoon phase, but I just love playing this bass. The Delano P/MM configuration is great - in my band I tend to favour the bridge in series with P mixed in, recently recorded a punk cover and got a very Matt Freeman tone rolled nearly all the way to P only with some MM in there, and for this band soloing the bridge humbucker in parallel works best for clarity. A lot of tones for a passive circuit with one volume, one blend and a tone.

The bass played really well at rehearsal last week.

I definitely need to swap out the stock strings, they are way too heavy and the E/B strings are not tapered. So while I have the action at an acceptable level they’re just wonky and uncomfortable to play.

I’m putting some nice new nickel hybrids on today (.40-125).

Wow different strings made this bass come alive! Nickel hybrids with tapered B now with super low action and sounds much better.

They did get the Nordstrand pickup shipment finally to the factory so You, Bart and I should be seeing couch pics for our other builds soon...fingers crossed

I thought you and Bart changed from Nord Zens to something else. Regardless, I hope you are right.

We did but the Nordstrand shipment came in before the delano shipment so they are just going to install the Nordstrand Zen blades that we originally ordered as to not keep us waiting.

I’m liking the roasted neck with the non-roasted board. The matching veneer stripes are a nice touch.

I hit 15 weeks the other day, and I got a status update this morning (from Adrian thru Randy):

It is ready but we don't have the tuner and the D-Tuner.
I hope they will come in the next week.
