LOL thanks, I’ll take that as a compliment!
It’s my daily driver at the moment, it’s small and comfortable and has a mean growl to it. My band loves it too since it fits my playing style with frequent soloing.

The next one with the Zebrawood is going to be an evolution of this one and will have some cool new features. This one was really a prototype of things I wanted to prove out.

Who knows, once I get my CNC setup later this summer I might be up to making a few more for others

I've been lurking around and I thought I'd make myself known. Picked this up through a trade, an Elwood L5. I love it! It's so light yet still hangs perfectly. At some point I'll take my own photos.

if not you can make it your self. The speaker are from eminence. I don't known where is a magic, they use standard speaker, but cabinet sound awesome. I can check for you what is inside, just ask at priv.

Is it possible to bond with a new bass in the first 5 minutes of playing for the first time? ABSOLUTELY when it is designed “for you”!

The Luminlay side dots glow nicely.

Super happy with this one, it is just as expected… plays amazing sounds fantastic and it’s the perfect size as it is a petite version of my Frog.

Well, that was a surprise.

Placed my order today, with a request for a burl maple top. As part of the confirmation process, I got to PICK WHICH TOP.

I’m sure it’s no skin off their back, helps prevent returns, and takes two seconds. But what a classy touch. As a former lumber yard guy, I appreciated that detail.

Adrian just contacted me and no pickups for me.

I went with the DiMarzio Relentless pickups, the Billy Sheehan model.

Not available.

It's a double pickup bass, P and Neck.

So I'm thinking of putting a Kloppmann PB-63 with a Guild Bisonic or a MEC large single or a MEC Vintage Humbucker.

Any of you have any experience with these?

I know the Bisonic and the MEC large single. What's the difference to the humbucker?

I have a Zebrawood bass in the works. It's sort of a Rickenbacker offshoot.

And I totally get the proof-of-concept prototype idea. The Warmoth jazz in my avatar is such a bass. I'll be applying lessons learned on it to the Zebrawood Rickenfaker.

Yeah when I say prototype, it was more about proving out the tooling required to build this bass.

@J_Bass I got a similar email yesterday. I am also getting a double p bass built by Adrian. I want a DiMarzio Relentless Middle DP296 installed in the bridge position and I want a DiMarzio Split P blades DP127 installed in the neck position.

If I was in the position of ordering another Maruszczyk bass right now, and I wanted American pickups on it, I think I'd go ahead and order the bass with Delanos or some other European pickup, and then just change the pickups later.

Two reasons for doing that. One, I'd probably get the bass sooner, if the pickups I order are easier for Adrien to source. And Two, there's a good chance I'd like the result of Adrien's work enough to not want to change the pickups after all.

I’m sure it’s possible, and thought about that too… but might just be easier to get whatever Adrian can source easily and then swap em when it arrives… then sell off the pickups that came in it to recoup the cost.

instead of ordering from the distributor, I found several retail music stores that have the pickups that I want. So I asked Adrian if it was possible for him to order my pickups retail.

Two possible problems with that, as I see it. First, the pickups still have to travel there. That takes time even when everything is running smoothly -- and when everything doesn't run smoothly, there are delays and sometimes things are damaged or lost.

Second, Adrien might be reluctant to guarantee a bass when something as central as the pickups(s) came from an unknown-to-him source. He's putting his reputation on the line every time he builds an instrument. He has a reasonable understanding of how a bass will sound when it's built using components he made or sourced. He doesn't necessarily have the same mental assurance when using parts a customer sent to him. If the bass ends up sounding crappy, his company's logo is still on it.

I bought my Elwood 5 30” from the in stock page with Delano single coils, and figured I’d end up swapping them out. Turns out they’re great and have no reason to change them.
